True Reality

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7

When a person is “rooted and built up” in Christ, they are secure even when persecution and challenges come their way. Although the pain of hardship is felt and grieved, they see beyond their current circumstances to a God who is strong, loving, and good. Despite the rollercoaster of betrayal by his brothers, and later, by a spiteful woman, Joseph looked to God for protection. He remained rooted in his faith despite and amidst his circumstances.

Recommended Reading: Genesis 45

As our faith roots deepen, we realize, God alone is steadfast and unchanging. The world and its people are constantly shifting, like shadows. As we practice gratitude and communion with God, our eyes are opened to His gifts and goodness. This world is temporary. As the reality of our relationship with God becomes tangible, we trust Him as our shield and fortress. Fear dissipates. God is with us. He will never forsake us. As we orient ourselves to Him, we are equipped for the challenges of today. He welcomes us and gently moves us toward His life, healing, and love.

All growth that is not toward God is growing to decay.
George MacDonald
.....................

Going to church ..? well confusion there, not sure what He wants me there for.... but we shall see.. perhaps... I still struggle, and struggle, and I think this has helped some...

I struggle against the change, the impermanence of this life..... silly me!

Re: True Reality

Nothing silly about it nanny. I too feel the same, especially since Larry's past.
The church for me now is here, reading posts in this forum and going on line doing the same with those I trust.
I seem to be going through a faze now and will find out what that is in due time. Struggling for me has taken a whole different meaning now. I know Jesus is Love and I love Him. I think I'm still learning and always will.

One thing I've learnt lately that knocked me for a loop, (you'd think I'd know but not completely.....deep down). That Larry's last breath on earth was when he looked at me (in the hospital). I'll never forget that. His very next one was looking in the eyes of the Lord. That brought me peace of mind too. I knew he go to Heaven but that put (like I said) a deeper newer meaning to me, that I needed. I know I prayed about it. The Lord answered with something Franklin Graham said on tv. I just sat there and shook.
Didn't mean to make this into a lengthy post but I was glad to share. Image
Jesus is so wonderful :amen

oh know Snowy, so lovely to hear what you say, and have said here.
can you remember what Franklin Graham said?

I think I have, over the years, heard the Lord speak to me,, but do not remember all of them, I wish I did, then perhaps my faith would not be so weak..

I would love other to comment as you have..

more please.. it truly helps me, as I am not good at sharing, and so often feel lonely on my walk with Him, lonely for sharing ...I mean

This is the interview (below) with Franklin Graham that caught my attention. I know it's about the terrorist attack but the part about those that were killed will see Christ with their next breath caught my attention. Larry was looking at me (holding my hand when he passed). Now I know without doubt with his next breath he is with the Lord, after his last breath on earth looking at me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSpdT_NPOrA

It really helped me with my grieving. I know Larry was/is a Christian. In fact he spoke a few words before he died saying, "I'm ready to go home".

My son doesn't understand, but maybe some day he will. I pray every day the Lord will free him from the bondage of this world to know and accept a lovely Master like Jesus. I love my son. I hold no animosity towards him. The man he use to be was a fine one. I'm sure there's a spark of goodness still inside him that Jesus will use (in his own timing) to answer the prayers I pray daily for him. Jesus is LOVE and loves my son even more than I do. He's in charge of all things. :godbless

Yes, the Lord speaks to me and I don't always remember them. He understands and will do so again ON HIS TIMING. He loves us so much He will do so again to bring what we need under certain circumstances.

There are other video's there with Franklin Graham I find very uplifting. Franklin Graham is one strong man and Christian, (he will give God all the credit) :amen

well Larry is with Jesus, there Larry "is" I so dislike using and hearing the phrasing of "was" ie past tense.. Larry is..... we are a funny lot with our language.
thanks Snowy

Re: True Reality

Reading this thread brings back so many memories for me! Just before he died, my husband had to go to a long term care facility ... I hated for him to have to do that, but he needed so much care that couldn't be done at home. I told him that, if I could do everything that he needed, I would bring him back home in a heartbeat! He said he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he would be right there at home with me if I could do it all. My daughter and I went to visit him every day during the short time that he was there . On that last visit, just as we were leaving, he sort of raised up and reached out in front of him, like he was trying to touch something. .. I said, "What do you need?" .. and he said, " I'm trying to touch the light" ... I thought he meant the light behind him was too bright

... so I tried to turn it down, but couldn't, so I told him to tell.the nurse when she came in next time. We said our goodbyes, then I kissed him, and left. Later on that evening they called me and told me that he had passed.
Since then, I've always believed he was probably dying then, and the "light" that he saw was the lights of Heaven!
There is a wonderful book that I read just after he died, called ONE MINUTE AFTER YOU DIE, written by Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer ... I re-read it every now and then just because it helps me. It starts off, in the introduction. ...

"  One minute after you slip behind the parted curtain, you will either be enjoying a personal welcome from Christ or catching your first glimpse of gloom as you have never known it. Either way, your future will be irrevocably fixed and eternally unchangeable........."

Just wanted to share. ......

oh Mary, so thankyou for this.. I am in tears here. with you and Snowy, having gone through the seeing of your beloved husbands journey through to Jesus.

my hubby is not well, and I sometimes dwell too much on the thought of being alone.... and what it is all about. my faith is very weak, and falters and restores, and drops again.

thankyou so much for being here, for sharing... :kidshug :huggss :huggss

I have not been here for a while now Snowy, I feel that you were so blessed to be with Larry, and that you looked into each other's eye's and held hands as he passed. I was with Maurice when he passed and I feel so blessed that I was. I know Jesus was there with us, as I felt the Peace of the Lord so strongly, it stayed with me for a long time. And helped me through my Grieving. Cheryl also felt it, and she would not leave the house for a long time. I do still miss Maurice, and I know that I always will, but I know that he is with Our Lord in Heaven.
